Hi Thanks for the great kite ideas. We really want to make some next year the weather is perfect at the moment in theWaikato so we will be practising next term with bamboo and flax. This is the first time we have really celbrated Matariki and we had a great time. We had a special day where we had a Pyjama party in the morning doing a play for our family and friends based on the Matariki story by Melanie Drewery. We had a shared breakfast and lots of fun for the morning. We made a Matariki calendar with the moon phases on this really got the families involved in the excitement of the Maori New Year. We can't wait until next year now. We will even have our kites to fly on the day how exciting. Lorraine Wilson Pukete Kindergarten Hamilton.
